Ross Statham, Founder
Ross is a service-disabled veteran and the founder of Dogwood.  After six years in the US Army where he served as an NCO (primarily in Washington, DC), Ross joined W4 Research, where he helped design some of the earliest Novell networks, including one of BellSouth’s first mission-critical networks.  Ross moved to Atlanta in 1987, and became a Regional Manager, the Business Development Manager and Director of Federal Operations for Kyocera Electronics (Kyoto, Japan) from the mid 80’s to early 90’s before joining Proteon, a connectivity pioneer.

While at Secure Computing Corporation, he was closely affiliated with the Professional Services and security software groups, working on a full range of security issues, from policy development to perimeter security to authentication, teaming with other manufacturers and integration partners, including a $21 million consulting contract that his team closed with a Fortune 10 company.  Ross decided to use his “large company” experience and contacts and founded Dogwood Management Partners, in order to bring mission-focused solutions to commercial and government clients.

His life “passions” include Bible study, ham radio (KX2FLY), flight and cycling.  An Eagle Scout, former Scoutmaster and Scouting District Chairman, Ross is a Scouting Silver Beaver recipient and formerly served on the Executive Board of the Northeast Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts of America and on Scouting’s National Committee.  He is the former Vice-Chairman of the Forsyth County Georgia Zoning Board and is a life member of Disabled American Veterans (he was formerly a member of the Third US Infantry, The Old Guard in Washington, DC.)

Ross volunteers his time as a Bible class teacher and serves on the Board of Directors of the Tri-County Airport (Florida) Airport Authority. He’s a graduate of the University of Alabama, where he played trumpet in Alabama’s “Million Dollar Band” (“about a million years ago”, as he puts it.)

Married to the same great lady since 1975 (also an Army veteran), they have four grown children and seven grandchildren and reside in the Florida panhandle with a nine-pound daschund who thinks she’s a rotweiler.
